This hilarious music video for Beardyman's single 'Big Man' was directed by MindPenis, the brain/phallus combo of Chris Cairns & Ross McDowell. Trim's very own intellectual/imbecilic double-act, Gus Herdman & Ross Hallard, joined the duo in the cutting room to create this parody of tragic middle-class white kids playing gangsters, puffing on Bensons grasping their crotches - big balls and all that.

The video was shot on location in and around Chris' flat in Stokey and even features Trim's beloved horny bitch, Peanut. We especially like the exploding Trim sign in the titles, every post company's dream.

We Heart Nopi

To kick off the festive season of 2011, the trimmers headed for a Prosecco induced evening at Yotam Ottolenghi's latest glamorous venture, Nopi. A minimalist interior with slick white tiles on the walls, lots of shiny brass fittings and a 'f*** me WOW' bathroom. Seriously, the bathroom alone is worth the visit. The walls are covered in mirrors jutting out at different angles creating a 70s psychadelic vision that leaves you wide-eyed and fumbling for the camouflaged toilet doors.

The menu is divided into meat, fish, veg and sweets with all the plates being small sharing sizes - (3 course meals are so passe). We started the feasting with a fresh and tangy dish of caramalised macademia and mango coleslaw, heavenly scallops with fennel puree and sweet pumpkin pie with salty manouri cheese and a lip-smacking ginger sabayon. The Trimmers forks were flying across the table snatching every last morsel of yumminess. Yottolenghi if you're listening, you should jar those macadamia nuts and sell them, because damn they were good.

A small break allowed for a second bathroom trip, this time with cameras in hand (you'll understand this madness once you experience the bathroom). Back in the restaurant our table was filled with round two of deliciousness. A seductively tender pork belly cassoulet with madeira prunes was presented in charming jam jars, tempting us to just pop one in our bags for a midnight treat. Another interesting dish of hibiscus and tea smoked quail with cumquat relish demonstrated Ottolenghi's successful fusion of exotic flavours. A heart warming dish of fondant swede and caerphilly gratin had everyone dribbling whilst stating repeatedly as if on drugs 'I don't even like swede, but I love this'. A last show stopping dish was chargrilled octopus with a banging salmorejo sauce and sweet morcilla. After this our brains drowned in foodie serotonin and we had no other choice but to order another bottle of their Cuvee rose 'Jeio', Bisol, just to lubricate our systems (please note that Trim now fully stocks this prosecco).

Desserts arrived just as we began to slump over, but nevertheless we raised our spoons like a cavalry standing to attention and devoured a christmassy mincemeat strudel with burnt orange and caramel ice cream and an creamy passion fruit meringue trifle creation all washed down with a 'pick me up' espresso martini! Oof it was gooood.

There wasn't a single dish to fault. Every flavour and texture was executed to a blinding perfection. Nopi is our favourite new restaurant and Ottolenghi is our new hero.

Meerkat Love

We love the Meerkat so much that three whole eager Trimmers Paul Hardcastle, Ross Hallard and Gus Herdman, were on board to cut a collection of lovely spots of Aleksandr Orlov handing out cute Meerkat toys to perplexed insurance purchasers - simples.

Now the film is swirling the international festivals and causing a storm, already picking up best Short Film at the Reykjavik International Film Festival (hooray!).

The Kills 'Baby Says'

Ross' latest offering is a collaboration with the multi-disciplined director Ben Crook, of Skin Flicks. And boy, is this a "Skinflick"...

This music film for super-cool two-piece The Kills, is a character study shot in Barcelona in a verité style, using non-professional actors. Our "Baby" is a 6' 2" semi-professional Brazilian volleyball player and transvestite, who becomes nearly 7" with his heels on.

We love the track, the film, the incredible high-heeled backflip and the edit. Hope you do too. Nice work, Ben & Ross.

And now some folks over at Shots Awards 2011 have nominated him for 'Editor of the Year' as well as nominating his brilliant Intel 'Chase' spot for 'Tv Commercial of the Year'.

We think he should win because he's a bloody brilliant editor with a lust for leather and lamps and that's truly something special.

I like Rustie. I liked his Bad Science EP on Wireblock, his single with Joker on Kapsize, his Inside Pikachus track from the Warp 20 album. When I first heard about the “aquacrunk” scene to which Rustie was attributed, for a short while I thought of cashing in and starting an Aquacrunkercize™ class in one of London’s trendy high end gyms. It would be like a cyber “Perfect” with me at the helm. Sadly it never happened. What did happen is Rustie signed to Warp and we now finally have his debut album. It’s good. Finally we can reveal the directors cut for Adam Berg's Talk Talk commercial!

Earlier this year in April, Paul Hardcastle locked himself away in his suite for two weeks and listened to 'Unchained Melody, non-stop. We wondered if he had finally cracked or if he was having some 'good time' with Demi Moore. It turned out he was cutting Adam Berg's cosy ad for Talk Talk, featuring an array of cute characers. It's a mixture of live action, stop-frame clay animation and 3D animation, to create a beautiful piece that reflects all the emotion in the original Demi Moore, Patrick Swayze scene. Kind of.

Dom was recently re-united with his buddies Garth Jennings and Nick Goldsmith (Hammer and Tongs) to cut this beautifully shot hair-raising ad for Phones 4 U. Sadly it's proved to be controversial as the bored sector of the British public have been wetting their pants over it, because its just too damn scary...boo hoo. Little do they know that the ad had to be re-shot as the original spot was deemed too horrifying by the client (I'll leave it to your imagination). Keep an eye out for another upcoming cinematic ad from the 'Incredible Three'.

This beautifully shot (Chris Doyle) and enchanting extended spot for Nationwide was directed by the lovely Eric Lynne and cut by Dominic Leung. It's certainly the most exciting bank ad we've seen in ages!

Whats more exciting though, is the number of avocados that were consumed by Eric Lynne over the course of the edit. I can confirm that out of all the directors that walk into Trim HQ, no doubt he has the best sheen and his digestive system is probably in good order too.

Trim was thrilled to work a second time round, on Prada's 2011 sexualy charged, futuristic Winter campaign. Dressed in their best Marks and Sparks holey jumpers and crumbly shoes, Paul Hardcastle cut the full length sensual spot whilst Leila Sarraf assisted and cut the sexy sunglasses. It was directed by the delightful James Lin and shot by none other then photographic king Steven Meisel. James even gave the trimmers lessons on how to perfect the 'seal on couch' pose, but it doesn't quite work unless you're a skinny 16 year old dressed head to toe in Prada (picture of Paul to come).

The stunning ad features Gus Herdman's twin brother, actor Thomas Turgoose running through the London streets passing young guns and kids hanging in tree houses - the creme de la creme of the future. Beautifully shot by Rob Hardy, and expertly cut by Paul Hardcastle, Coca Cola has never looked so cool.

Leung Not Cheung!

T Mobile's latest ad 'Angry Birds', directed by Greg Brunkalla (of Legs) has had a whopping 5 million hits already on Youtube, whilst defaming poor Dominic's name. Its Leung, not Cheung, dammit!

Anyway, the ad's a brilliant real-life re-creation of the popular Angry Birds game, set in Barcelona and shot with 8 different cameras. Whilst Dom was busy scouring through the extensive footage to create his masterpiece, the lovely Greg Brunkalla kept busy at Trim by perfecting his pronunciation of the delightful English word 'bollocks'. Over and over again he tried, yet failed to sound like anyone but Dick Van Dyke in Mary Poppins. Good times- bowlux.

Walter Stern recently directed this colourful spot for Dutch Financial Institution, Rabobank, or rather 'rob a bank' as we like to call it at Trim.

It was shot in China, Germany and the Netherlands, lit by award winning DP Marcel Zyskind and deftly cut by Tom Lindsay. The piece is a playful orchestration of lights, creating an arresting visual feast. Mmm good idea.

Earlier this week, the few trimmers that weren't masquerading around Europe or having an MRI scan, decided to relish a quiet day , make like the french and actually go out for a three course lunch and maybe even drink some wine...gasp.

The chosen destination was London's latest top secret restaurant 'The Corner Rooms', headed by Portuguese chef Nuno Mendes. It's hidden away in the shadows of Mendes's first London restaurant, Viajante (probably the most controversial restaurant to have opened last year) in the austere, beautiful and according to Leila, haunted Bethnal Green Town Hall Hotel.

There's no website, no phone and no reservations. The only evidence of it's existence is a lonely facebook page. This is the first reason why this place is great. The second reason is that the menu is short, 3 starters, 4 mains and 3 desserts. Third reason, is the price. Compared to the eye opening prices at Viajante, eating at The Corner Room feels like you've just found a £50 note on the pavement. Without wine, £20 for 3 courses of simple yet exceptionally executed dishes leaves you laughing at the fools next door.

We fell into silence at the feet of a super rich poached egg starter served with asparagus and pop in your mouth tapioca balls. Iron levels were raised with a hunk of lamb encrusted with macacadamia nuts and miso, that bled beautifully into the new potatoes. A satisfying loin of park was partnered with sweet scrapings of fried portugese bread. Two very different desserts were chocolate cake scattered like a painting with peanut butter ice cream, caramel, fudge, mousse and lemon cream. This was seriously good. A second more unusual dessert was a herby granita, totted with goats cheese blobs, blueberries, toasted brioche and minimal caramel. It tasted like a perfectly plotted summer garden. Our only issue at The Corner Room was the sloooow service. Problem being that there only appeared to be one chef to start with, and then as the room filled I guess more were nabbed from Viajante, hooray!

We left, bellies full, feeling smug and a tiny bit bitter that the french do this all the time. I guess we will just have to make a more conscious effort to seize the quiet days and luxuriate ourselves in the E2 eating opportunities.

Together we savagely devour huge spicy lamb chops (Taayabs), comforting beef pies (Pellicis), volcanic Szechuan dishes (Gourmet San) all followed by cermonial afternoon teas (Albion) or chased with a dirty Nandos. Last month, Ford Focus launched a global campaign to pitch their latest car with its new extraordinary technologies, like parking itself..crazy huh. It was a colossal job involving 16 edits which resulted in approximately 500 total versions for across the world! Belgium based editor Martin Leroy set up camp at Trim working alongside Ross Hallard who cut the 60" and 30" versions.

If you get off on the porny macro shots , you'll probably like to know that they were achieved by slicing cross-sections of the engine and hand cranking the individual parts! Sex.

That's my bad analogy for Dominic Leung's complex handiwork for Kim Gehrig's luscious New Look ad. With no apparent cuts, the 'camera' seamlessly pans across 30 layers of HD footage, creating a canvas of summertime girliness. Very impressive.

Jarrett flew over from LA to cut Jake's new Lucozade spot. It features uber rapper Tinie Tempah, drummer/entrepreneur Travis Barker and kick ass boxer Katie Taylor. It makes Lucozade cool again after decades of being the choice of kids wagging school and pretending to be ill in bed.

It's a dope edit as one might expect from the man that did this and this and this.

The project involves an iphone app (of course) that maps out your personal journey through the city, leaving you dumbfounded at the highly unexcitable generated image. The ad however is exciting. Wolfe injected the dogs with a dose of Royal Wedding merriment, sending them on an eager journey across the countryside towards the dwellings of London to meet their fellow Corgi friends, so they can all sit round together and watch the Royal Wedding in full HD, rather then the shitty normal res that people in the country are subjected to. Those creative folk at Wieden and Kennedy have launched a super addictive music-making app for the new Nokia N8 smart phone as part of their 'It's not technology, it's what you do with it' campaign.

To demonstrate it's potent potential, director Kim Gehrig took to the poodle parlours of Shanghai, adopting the talents of multi-coloured poodles getting pimped up like trannies. Back in blighty, Trim's Tom Lindsay took the visuals under his wing and created a loop style edit to further emboss the apps idea and reflect the looping soundtrack which was created entirely on-set using the phone! Yes that's a big loopy loopy WOW...(lets just hope iphone make their own version eh!).

Earlier this year, Paul flew out to New York New York, to edit the new Verizon Droid 2 Motorola ad, directed by long time affiliate Adam Berg.

Stylishly shot in the same location as the police headquarters seen in 'The Departed', this slick spot demonstrates how when using the new Verizon Droid phone during your weekly board meeting, your arms can turn into ultra robotic, terminator-esque limbs and your colleagues wont even blink an eye. Now if that's not a hint at the future, I don't know what is.

The maestro of the year, Daniel Wolfe has re-created this blindingly authentic messy rave for Chase and Status's new fookin brilliant tune 'Blind Faith'. All those years of jaw grinding for Trim's Dominic Leung finally paid off, as Wolfe insisted he was the only man fit for the job. Boy done good....real good.

We think both this video and song are gonna go down a storm, bringing nostalgic tears to everyone in their late 30's and making all the 20 year old trend setters swap their hareem pants for a Gio Goi getup!

To pig trot or not? That is the question

So apparently when Gus Herdman drinks Grappa, his nipples get rock hard. He demonstrated this at the Trim Christmas Supper club (no.3) held at Bistro Bruno Loubet. But before I divulge in how hard his nipples get, lets rewind 3 courses and several bottles of wine.

Located at the Zetter hotel, Bistro Bruno Loubet is a curved relaxed eating venture, serving rich and refined french dishes. The menu reads like a dream, causing salivation before the warm bread has even arrived. After much deliberation and discussion over the virtues of stuffed pigs trotters, half of us decided to stick to Bruno's signature starter dish of snail and meatballs served with a mushroom mousse. The juicy umami morsels were enrobed in a rich tomato sauce offset by a smooth mousse topped with pesto. A very very good dish, only slightly setback by a Dolmio nostalgia. Beating the piggy balls and snails was Ross's faultless animalistic dish of foie gras, pheasant and duck liver terrine. Gus and Naz went for 'lady' starters of Salmon with chilled borscht and ratatouille and octopus salad. Both delicately flavoured, yummy and reminiscent of Summer.

The signature main dish of Hare Royale, served with posh macaroni cheese was unbelievably tender, rich and flavoursome. Topped with a slither of foie gras, this unassuming creation was worthy of sitting upon a shrine and worshipped till your arteries were clogged with pleasure. Dom's pheasant crepinette served with turnip confit and elderberry sauce was a glorious christmas carol whilst Gus's Duck confit with honey and dukkah was an 'eh' tasty dish. Ross and Naz both went for fish, Cod and Gurnard...honestly cant remember much about them but apparently the Cod was good and the Gurnard was not.

With everyone stuffed, we decided to venture into the sweet land. The land that both Paul and Tom have recently terminated themselves from due to fashionable diets. In a greedy approach, we ordered all the desserts on the menu; a dreamy chocolate marquise, a secretly tantalising glazed quince served with a green peppercorn ice cream, a curious self-saucing passion fruit pudding, a moorish nougat glace, and a crap apple and blackberry Clerkenwell mess. Crap, because it wasn't a mess but more of a compote and who the hell wants to eat compote for dessert?!

So all in all a wonderful, rich, cockle warming meal that ended with some grappa for Gus, giving him a nipple chaffing extravaganza. Also did I mention that Marcus Wareing was sitting opposite us and all he ate was some lettuce and half a bottle of red wine?

Cars made out of cakes, sweets, chocolates and meringues....eurgh, how pathetic. A car constructed from snake venom, crossbows, bones, skid marks and the tooth indentations of a fat skin head is way cooler!

The new Skoda Fabia ad created by Fallon, directed by Nick Gordon of Somesuch & Co and edited by Trim's Dominic Leung is a hardcore head thrashing 'piss off you pansy bakers' commercial and we love it! Plus it was great fun having the Somesuch gang in the Trim house!

Paul's decision to use Mara Carlyle's Pianni track on the latest Ikea ad, was initially just to set the pace for the edit. However in an unpredictable fashion, the clients actually approved it and the release of the ad consequently resurrected the dormant career of a hugely talented musician.

We're really excited to be finally able to show Saam Farahmand's fantastic new video for Mark Ronson, featuring vocals from Boy George. The track is amazing, and particularly Boy George's vocals are imbued with a soul and gravitas not present in the Culture Club era.

Set in 1982 it circles around the flashpoint of Culture Club's meteoric rise to fame. Shot on Ikegami tube cameras, and styled with Boy George's wardrobe from the time, the video is a faithful snapshot of youthful exuberance and innocence and friendship.

More awards news; Daniel Wolfe snagged Best Director and Tim Francis Best Producer at this year's UK Music Video Awards.

Dominic Leung joined Hammer&Tongs' Garth Jennings and Nick Goldsmith onstage, to collect the Icon Award for their work in creating some of the most loved videos of all time.

Daniel and Tim have had a stellar year, producing a string of top quality videos for Plan B. Daniel's filmatic style has won him rave reviews from the 'Tube to Antville to Promo News. And for some reason this all feels like just the beginning...

Jamie Thraves' Feature Film Wins Dinard!

Over the past few months at Trim, Tom Lindsay and Ross Hallard have been industriously cutting together Jamie Thraves' new film 'Treacle Jr'. Starring Aidan Gillen and Tom Fisher, it's a buddy film of the highest order, following in the fine tradition of classics such as Schlesinger's Midnight Cowboy. Time Out gave it a glowing 4 star review, calling it "Funny, touching and gritty, a coolly rendered observation on need and rejection [it] really is a Brit drama to shout about."

After a difficult experience on his last studio film, Jamie decided to produce the next one on his own terms. Re-mortgaging his house and pulling in friends, family and loyal crew; he made Treacle Jr at breakneck speed and for peanuts.

An amazing accomplishment in itself, but doubly rewarded by being a rather amazing piece of work too. It's classic Thraves in many ways; great performances, fantastic dialogue and a bitter sweet ending.

In a total shocker last week, Treacle Jr drew for top prize at the 21st Dinard Festival for British Film. Previous esteemed winners have included Shallow Grave, The Full Monty, The Girl With The Pearl Earring, London To Brighton and Billy Elliot

It is also playing at the London Film Festival from 21st October. You can book tickets here, though hurry it's almost sold out!!

As a consequence of the blimmin great Ikea ad, Mother commissioned a short documentary about the eccentric owners of the cats used in the commercial. Directed by Andy Lang and edited by Trim's Gus Herdman, this short slice of hilarious and insightful entertainment is going down a storm on YouTube with nearly 30,000 hits already!

Although we're sure half of those viewers were looking for a different kind of pussy...

There's no stopping Daniel Wolfe, as he unleashes his 4th chapter to the Strickland Banks cinematic saga. Another breath-taking tune matched with an epic and unprecedented video, its no wonder Mr Wolfe's previous Plan B videos have received a whopping 11 nominations for the Music Video Awards this year!

'Recluse' is also Daniel's penultimate at Partizan, as he has recently moved to the new production company Some Such & Co along with his long time producer Tim Francis, whose also up for Best Producer at the MVA's this year.

Its that time of year again for the UK Music Video Awards and this time round its a goodun, with an impressive splattering of nominated videos edited by the Trimmers! Daniel Wolfe's trilogy of Plan B videos, edited by Tom Lindsay and Dominic Leung have received a whopping 11 nominations, including Best Editing for 'Prayin' and 'Stay Too Long'...oooh a head to head wrestle between Dom and Tom!

Also Jamie Thraves' Fanfarlo video, 'Fire Escape' edited by Trim's Ross Hallard is nominated for Best Rock Video, whilst W.I.Z's Hurts video, 'Better Than Love', edited by the mighty Tom Lindsay is up for best pop video- hoopla!

Cats, cats, cats - thats the theme of the new brilliant Ikea ad, directed by Adam Berg with the brains of Creative agency, Mother. Edited by Trim’s Paul Hardcastle, this sweet and stylish campaign sees a 100 cats let loose in the Ikea Wembley store in London. The feline creatures run around, exploring, fighting, hiding and finally settling into a snug nestle of sleep- as you do.

“The idea behind the work is that cats know better than anything what makes them feel happy inside, they live their lives in pursuit of their own comfort," said Feh Tarty, creative director at Mother.

The ad is part of a bigger campaign, which includes an online 'guess the cat's favourite furniture' competition, a 'making of' documentary and a hilarious short documentary about the somewhat crazy cat owners, edited by Trim's Gus Herdman (watch this space).

Albion Cafe- Local to Trim

A friend who lives in Bethnal Green described Albion as "That English place selling English stuff, in England', which, in a funny way, sums it up. Albion on Boundary street serves up the best of British, with the kind of flair commonly reserved for foreign delicacy. The shop attached to the cafe sells Bovril, Marmite and porridge oats on fancy rustic displays next to freshy baked goods. The caff is the best thing about this Conran owned gaff because it really does offer tasty food at value for money. My personal fave is the cream tea for £6. Far from being a measly scone and a cuppa, this is a feast I struggled to finish despite my best efforts. Faultless scones; two of them, huge with jam, butter and cream, sat beside beautifully moist fruitcake, some amazing shortbread and a slice of perfect sponge, all washed down with a pot of tea. I say all washed down, but in truth I had to smuggle the shortbread away in my handbag for later because it was all too much. Easily enough for two and delicious.

And all this only a few minutes walk from Trim's cutting rooms....

Dom to run Berlin Marathon!

To dispel the myth that editors are weak creatures barely capable of slithering from their desks to gab a fry-up from the local caf, Dom is running the Berlin Marathon on 26 Sept. Harriet (Baz) Cawley and Kenny Shynola will be Dom's trusty team mates. Team GB will be blazing to glory as well as raising money for heart screening for young people through the Gideon Baws Memorial Fund at CRY (Cardiac Risk in the Young). Many of you will remember our good friend Gideon who sadly died in 2008 of sudden heart failure at the age of 33.

Dom has been training hard over the past few months, most notably with local Shoreditch based running club Run Dem Crew www.rundemcrew.com. RDC is headed by the charismatic and energetic Charlie Dark; poet, musician, teacher, sportsman, there are few things this guy can't do. A motley crew of creative types who love to run, the club meet at pop up Nike store 1948 on Batemans Row every Tuesday evening. Steamed into four ability groups Cheetahs, Greyhounds, Hares and tortoises, the club is very inclusive and champions the East End's urban environment as a great running space. This is after all the land of the 2012 Olympics.

E Pellicci- Our local Caf

E Pellicci has been something of an institution in the East End for over 100 years. Perhaps we are biased, it is our local after all, but we think it's probably the best caf in London. They've just reopened after their customary August family holiday in Italy, and we're hankering for a fry up.

The late, great Nevio Pellicci serving up a lovely cuppa.

Serving up proper caf fayre like a full English, gigantic omelettes, and hand cut chips, the place is always heaving with locals refuelling, passing the time of day and chatting about the football. There's also a big selection of Italian faves; the canneloni is good choice, and if you have the appetite for it you can order it with chips. Lovely. Say hello to Nev junior from us.

Directed by the talented Woof Wan Bau, the ad features renowned footballer, Lionel Messi showing off his ball skills which are brilliantly mimicked by some unsuspecting folk. Who would of guessed Beijing was hiding these talented footballers!

Shoreditch House- Local to Trim

Ok we know this aint Miami. We know it's completely absurd to be lounging by the pool on a London rooftop sipping wine. But we don't really care because it's fun and they are always nice to us.

Shoreditch House boasts two restaurants, a bar, a spa, a gym, rooftop pool, hotel and amazing views of East London. You can probably see us from the Rooftop restaurant. Other highlights include outdoor beds (!) a secret garden, and a bowling alley you can hire for parties.

The food's not bad either. Trimblogger got stuck into a good plate full of Goats cheese ravioli the other day. I'm not going to pretend I have Leila's food critiquing skills, but I will say it was scrumalicious.

Shoreditch House is in Ebor Street, which is opposite Shoreditch Station.

Acclaimed director John Hillcoat has recently been hanging his hat at Trim. Working with long term collaborator Tom Lindsay, he's turned in a couple of fine pieces of work...

First on the menu is his video for Nick Cave's outfit, Grinderman. The video is an irreverent stew of shot elements, green screen, archive (and stuff from John's iPhone!). From Lazer-gods to hairy monsters to comet-conducting-dogs - it seems like the older Cave and Co get, the younger they become. The video is the finale after a two-month-internet-tease, hopefully it lives up to the hype...

Second is Unkle's new release 'The Answer'. The video features renowned actor, Ray Winstone like you've never seen him before as he re-tells his brush with death, when hit by lightning as a youngster. Dark Horses

There can be no doubt that Dark Horses are a force to be reckoned with. That's probably why they are invited again and again to support Kasabian. As a live band they are haunting, compelling and greater than the sum of their parts, making them a suitable support for the recent Black Rebel Motorcycle Club tour.

W.I.Z recently created this film as an introduction to the band, their music and mystery. Edited by Leila Sarraf, you can catch the film on the big screen at Duke of York Cinema, Friday 20th August in Brighton!

To celebrate street artist Ben Eine getting all fancy and having his work in Barak Obama's house we've mocked up our own EINE piece. Cool hu?

If you read, watch or listen to the news you've probably heard that David Cameron gave Obama a painting that reads TWENTY FIRST CENTURY CITY. The next day EINE took to our local streets and painted a piece on Hackney road reading THE STRANGEST WEEK. Below we captured a rare image of the artist at work.

Opinion is divided on all this; some people think it's brilliant, some people think it's not cool when David Cameron buys your art. Either way we think it must be pretty fun graffing up London town, and then name-dropping the PM when the cops show.

"Super Mario Galaxy 2" for Nintendo

Let's pay homage to Super Mario Galaxy 2, Nintendo's 3D incarnation of Super Super Mario Brothers. The original was born 1985 and remained the most popular video game of all time until 2009. As a child of the 80's Trim blogger is proud to have been with Mario all the way, right back to the Donkey Kong years when computers gave us graphics like THIS.

Gus has just cut this spot featuring our favorite little intergalactic plumber . The ad was directed by Mini Vegas at nearby Nexus in Shoreditch.

Paul's Hornbach Cut

Paul has just cut this charming film for Hornbach Home Improvement in Germany. The film was directed Woof Wan Bau for Radical Media , and posted at Time Based Arts in Shoreditch. Everything from the whimsical art direction, to the pleasantly pinky sound track, lulls us into a warm, fuzzy place. But there's an edge to it too; it has surreal and even borderline dark undertones. We've never seen anything this magical before for a DIY shop!

Saam's latest vid for Klaxons track "Echoes" has something of the oldskool about it. There are some serious rock staples here people; sunset, the desert, fire, lens flair, slow-mo, men with guitars standing on phallic pillars of earth. Nice.

Arnold Circus Centenary, Shoreditch

Last weekend was the centenary of Arnold Circus, which is the roundabout/band-stand situated in the heart of the Boundary Estate, round the back of Bethnal Green Road. The whole area is changing at a startling rate; from being the UK's first community housing back in the late 1890's, through to near decimation during WWII, and the race riots of the 70's, the area now plays host to countless galleries, private members clubs, bars, restaurants and ad agencies. We just heard that new planning permission has been given to erect a 20 storey building next to the Tea Buildings, which will play host to a new shopping centre and above which will be the obligatory luxury condos. Love it or loathe it, the development of the area is so fast, it's breathtaking to behold.

The Arnold Circus centenary was a splendid affair; some great bands playing in the newly revamped band-stand, fantastic sweet treats and savouries on offer, and a very valiant ping pong match between locals and guests - with most of the points being claimed by the gusts of wind which cut through the 30 degree heat.

We saw these fantastic flyers being handed out, which give a backstory to the area, and are beautifully illustrated.

Grinderman Trailer

Nick Cave's rock band Grinderman are releasing their latest album Album "Grinderman ll" and this trailer marks the auspicious occasion in a suitably rock n' roll style. It's directed by John Hillcoat who has collaborated with Cave for years; they went to art school together in melbourne. John also directed "The Proposition", written by Cave and recently the adaptation of Cormac McCarthy's "The Road", starring Viggo Mortensen.

Tom Lindsay cut this and a video will follow very soon. RAWCK!

Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button display all the enthusiasm of little boys when they visit a McLaren storage facility jam packed full of racing cars. Director Henry Mason's use of subtle slow-mo enhances that dreamy 'can't quite belive I'm here' feeling. Ross, as ever, has delivered an effortless cut.

So last night's Rokkit/ Trim party, went down in style. The Bathhouse was absolutely heaving by the time this little Trim Blogger arrived around 10pm. Trim's own PR aficionado Naz Foroodian was whirlwinding around in a pair of spectacular black velvety suede wedges, meeting, greeting and hugging.

Inside people guzzled complimentary cocktails and danced to solid beats, with a dash of poptastic something. Dom had apparently started off the music in style with an early set. Tom, Ross and Paul could be spotted on the dancefloor, along with Stink director Gaelle Denis who's known for her very, very good animation. All were looking gorgeous and enjoying the contrast of old Victorian Turkish Bathhouse and storming party.

Nearby, musician and singer Mara Carlyle, who's playing at Latitude festival this weekend, was chatting to editor Julia Knight and actress/ writer Sophie Woolley. All were wearing posh frocks, which we think is entirely fabulous. Sophie recently starred as Gabby in Channel 4's Cast Offs and has a cult following for her own darkly comic shows. This Friday at 11pm she's apparently making a rare appearance as herself on radio 4, taking about what things sound like now that she's gone deaf. Not that she was plugging it, she was too busy dancing, cocktail in hand. New animation director Sam Mason was also there. Sam recently completed his stunning student film Wild Robot at St Martins, and it includes music by his equally talented brother Willy Mason. And there was a lot of talent present; director and photographer Borkur Sigthorsson danced past and told us he's working on projects in Iceland and London over the coming months. There was also a large Nexus contingent, although they were having so much fun we never actually caught up with them properly. But we did chat briefly to producer Daniella Steadman from Love who seemed to be working very hard. Leila and Gus on the other hand were enjoying the party too much to think of work. "I'm on the V.I.P table!" enthused Gus, with a princely gesture designed to invite us to join his very nice (but kinda identical to all the rest) table. Finally Julia Stephenson of Short and Sweet, London's weekly short film evening, told us she's hosting the UK's First ever 3D Stereoscopic film festival launching on Friday (Yes with 3D GLASSES and everything!). We are excited.

"It was the same team [as the last Stella job] so we had the formula cracked. The challenge was that virtually every shot had some aspect of post work that needed roughly working out in the offline. Overall it was great fun"
