Guinness "Paint The Town Black"

Daniel Wolfe & Dominic Leung have teamed up once again, this time to tackle the rich legacy of Guinness ads. This "Wolfian" update was filmed on location in Transylvania with a cast of 350 locals and 2000kg of black goo. Beautifully shot by by AndrĂ© Chemetoff and energetically soundtracked by Fanfare Ciocarlia, the film tells the story of a town that paints itself black in celebration of Arthur's Day. Here we proudly present the directors cut.

Dalston Psycho

Director Daniel Wolfe and editor Tom Lindsay have once again joined forces to create a truly magnificent piece of cinema for The Shoes' new song 'Time to Dance'. Shot by the highly acclaimed Robbie Ryan, it's a visually stunning feast featuring Hollywood swoonster Jake Gyllenhaal like you've never seen him before. You're going to want to watch it at least 3 times, maybe even 5!

Cobra 'Train'

Director Daniel Wolfe has once again delivered a visually stunning commercial, this time round for Cobra. It's filled to the brim with an eclectic mix of characters from hipsters to gurus, (all street cast of course), getting crunked up on a train journey. We think it's a beautifully crafted spot, effortlessly pieced together by Tom Lindsay. Plus it makes us thirsty and gives our shoulders a work out to the brilliantly original track, what more do you want?

A Life Well Lived

Daniel Wolfe's latest gem, spans the life of San Miguel from the 1950s to present time. Shot with a variety of cameras; super 8, high 8, 35mm, 16mm and VHS C the ad is a sumptuous montage of textures and eras, characters and bottles, sunsets and venues. With a delicate and endearing cut from Tom Lindsay, the spot is a wonderful and subtle muse of Spain and its good times. Now pass me that beer.

The Raw and the Cooked

We trimmers lurvvve our food. And if you've ever been to our office you'll know we take our lunches seriously, always sitting around a big table together and planning our meal for the next day.

However when director Daniel Wolfe is in the house, feasting becomes momentous. Together we savagely devour huge spicy lamb chops (Taayabs), comforting beef pies (Pellicis), volcanic Szechuan dishes (Gourmet San) all followed by cermonial afternoon teas (Albion) or chased with a dirty Nandos. This whole hearted devotion to food has led Mr Wolfe to make a mouth-watering, retro food porno, cut by no other then Trim's executive feeder Leila Sarraf. A lip smacking dream job for the both of them.

Wolfe and the Royal Wedding

For Daniel Wolfe's latest commerical, he turned his attention to the talents of three Corgis dogs to promote the new Freeview HD. Wolfe injected the dogs with a dose of Royal Wedding merriment, sending them on an eager journey across the countryside towards the dwellings of London to meet their fellow Corgi friends, so they can all sit round together and watch the Royal Wedding in full HD, rather then the shitty normal res that people in the country are subjected to. As always with Mr Wolfe's work, it's shot beautifully with a retro tinge creating a brilliantly British chunk of summertime anticipation.

Congratulations to Daniel and Tim! (and Dom!)

More awards news; Daniel Wolfe snagged Best Director and Tim Francis Best Producer at this year's UK Music Video Awards.

Daniel and Tim have had a stellar year, producing a string of top quality videos for Plan B. Daniel's filmatic style has won him rave reviews from the 'Tube to Antville to Promo News. And for some reason this all feels like just the beginning...

prayin

There's no stopping Daniel Wolfe, as he unleashes his 4th chapter to the Strickland Banks cinematic saga. Another breath-taking tune matched with an epic and unprecedented video, its no wonder Mr Wolfe's previous Plan B videos have received a whopping 11 nominations for the Music Video Awards this year!

'Recluse' is also Daniel's penultimate at Partizan, as he has recently moved to the new production company Some Such & Co along with his long time producer Tim Francis, whose also up for Best Producer at the MVA's this year.

Plan B "Prayin"

The ongoing collaboration between Daniel Wolfe and Plan B has yielded this epic edited by Tom Lindsay.

With nigh on feature film proportions to everything from the cast to the story, Plan B's self styled narrative is a beast that's greater than the sum of it's parts. There's a definite continuity running through the album "The Defamation of Strickland Banks", and the videos reflect that. This is the jail house sequel to the 'She Said" courtroom video. Six minutes of violent man fury, it really isn't for kids.

Watch it here. (Unless you are a kid, then don't watch it here. It might give you nightmares.)

Tom edits Kopparberg 'Find'

Tom Lindsay's cut of Daniel Wolfe's Koppraberg commercial has a great musical energy to it. Cut to a track by band Joy Formidable the edit feels fast paced but roomy enough too. We are loving Daniel's use of black and white, and his choice of Robbie Ryan as DOP.

As usual Daniel has the casting spot on, choosing to feature people who exude something beyond the usual commercial envelope.

The ad will be playing across cinemas in the UK for the next few months.

Dom's D&AD Editing Nomination

Plan B's "Stay Too Long" video directed by Daniel Wolfe and edited by Dominic Leung has been nominated in the D&AD awards editing category.

Trim's had an ongoing involvement in the Daniel Wolfe/ Plan B partner ship, and between us we've cut 3 videos and one live performance piece. We're pretty blown away by the talent that is Plan B, and are always up for seeing what he does next.

For those of you who missed our blog entry about the video back in December, you can watch it here:

Gus Herdman edits Plan B "Writing's On the Wall"

When Plan B's "Writing's on the Wall" video came out on Youtube it was the number one hit for 2 days running. Trim editor Gus Herdman says he couldn't have predicted it's popularity when he cut the video for Daniel Wolfe at Partizan. Although the pair had worked on some equally popular live performance cuts, it was still a nice surprise, "I guess I underestimated the power of Youtube" says Gus modestly.

Shot at London's famous Cafe de Paris, it features a stylish crowd ranging from rockabillies to break-dancers. The video is a classic performance piece, showcasing Plan B's charasmatic on-stage personality, and Daniel's talent for capturing the moment. As one of our regular directors , we're chuffed to have been working with him again recently.

We also think Gus has done a great job on this, and we can't wait to see what he does next.

Gus also cut this live session for Plan B.

Plan B, Daniel W, Part II

And so the year begins as the last one ended (and begun) with another fine filmic excursion for Plan B by Daniel Wolfe. "She Said" is the second single from Plan B's upcoming release 'The Defamation of Strickland Banks', and the all singing all dancing narrative picks up from Stay Too Long - Strickland is in court, a man accused of a crime he didn't commit. Among the familiar faces are Kaya Scodelario from Skins and Vicky McClure from This Is England.
